EU states should lose voting rights, prime ministers should be prosecuted

Oxford think tank calls for severe sanctions against EU states and leaders who colluded with CIA

(Oxford, 8 June 2006) In response to the Council of Europe report that European governments through collusion in CIA operations are complicit in gross violations of human rights and the rule of law that gravely breach the European Treaties and international law, involved Member States should lose their voting rights in the Council of Ministers, involved candidate countries should have their accession processes terminated, and responsible political leaders should be prosecuted, says a think tank based in Oxford.
