Oxford think tank condemns lack of independent EU inquiry into CIA abduction, rendition, and detention in Europe

(Oxford, 1 March 2006) Recognizing the exceptional damage caused to the internal legitimacy and external credibility of the European Union from the likely complicity of several Member States and candidate countries in gross violations of human rights, the rule of law, and international law by the United States through their support of CIA operations underpinning its global Gulag system, it should now be the EU’s single most urgent priority to establish complete truth and enforce full justice regarding these disgraceful crimes against humanity on European soil, says a think tank based in Oxford.
