The US must shut down global Gulag

Oxford think tank calls for end to serious violations of human rights, rule of law, and international law by the US

(Oxford, 28 February 2006) Recognizing that human rights and the rule of law are universal values of human civilization, the United States should immediately stop having people tortured, close down Guantanamo Bay and all the secret detention and interrogation facilities it uses, and cease the practices of renditions and abductions, says a think tank based in Oxford, stressing that these operations regardless of whether they are carried out by the US itself or outsourced by the US to other countries are illegal under both the US constitution and international law.
