The Board of Advisors of the OCGG helps the Board of Directors in providing strategic direction and intellectual guidance to the Council.

 

Andrew Moravcsik

Member, Board of Advisors

Dr Andrew Moravcsik is Professor of Politics at Princeton University. From 1992 to 2004, he was Professor of Government and Director of the European Union Program at Harvard University. Previously, he served as a trade negotiator for the US government and as economic analyst and speechwriter for the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.

Prof Moravcsik has written extensively on European integration, global human rights, transatlantic relations, US and West European foreign policy, negotiation analysis, international organization, international relations, and defense-industrial globalization. His book The Choice for Europe is widely seen as the single most important work on the European Union. His work has been translated into 17 languages.

Prof Moravcsik’s public affairs commentary appears regularly in Newsweek, as well as in Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, Foreign Policy, and other publications. He also writes occasionally on opera history and performance.

Prof Moravcsik has a BA in History from Stanford University, an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Political Science from Harvard University - and has studied at several universities in France and Germany.
